IF WE COULD SEE AS GOD SEES

A PANORAMIC VIEW

“For he (God) looks to the ends of the earth, and sees everything under the heavens.”

Job 28:24

WHAT WOULD WE SEE?

THE ESTABLISHED CHURCH

If we could see as God sees we would be able to pin point every place on earth where the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been evangelized and established for some period of time – centuries or recently.

In these places we would also see where the people have grown cold and are complacent. Where they are satisfied with their own salvation, but feel no need to evangelize the lost ones in their own communities or in the world. These places need a fresh move of the Spirit of God in their midst to revive their devotion to Him and to give them a burden for the lost at home and abroad.

WHERE THE GOSPEL IS LEGALLY PROHIBITED OR STRONGLY OPPOSED

These are places that desperately need the intervention of God to liberate them from their spiritual bondage. In other words, they need an outpouring of God’s Spirit in their lands.

If we could see as God sees, we would see every one of these places where God is pouring out His Spirit in our own times. In these places, a great harvest of souls is being realized, because that is what happens when God pours out His Spirit. People’s hearts are softened. The prisons of serving false gods are opened. Veils of unbelief are removed. And the people are set free to believe in and follow Jesus Christ.

(There is much more I would love to share with you about these places, but that must wait for another time.)

WHERE THE NAME OF JESUS HAS NEVER BEEN HEARD

If we could see as God sees, we would also be able to see every person in every place that, as yet, has never heard the name of Jesus Christ. These are the truly unreached people groups in the world today. They are scattered all over the world. Even in places where the Church is established. The word “never” is the operative word in this case.

Therefore, an outpouring of God’s Spirit is absolutely necessary.

We already know that God has sent His emissaries (missionaries) to some of these people groups to introduce them to Jesus. I don’t know the total number, but I personally know about two of them. One in Ghana, W. Africa. One in Peru. And I shared the testimonies of each of them with you last October. In each place some of them believed in Him. And my heart rejoiced!

But this is just the beginning for them. They need still more…an outpouring of God’s Spirit to continue the work He began, and to complete it.

THE BODY OF CHRIST STILL HAS WORK TO DO.

God’s people from all around the world, MUST take the Gospel to those who have never heard it. There is no acceptable excuse if we don’t take it.

WE NEED MORE FULL TIME MISSIONARIES TO ACCOMPLISH THE TASK.

Will you join me in praying for more full time missionaries in the harvest fields? The job will not be accomplished without concerted, continuing prayer. If you are saying “Yes,” then I say “Thank You, God bless you.”

May we satisfy the heart of God by saying, “Yes,” if He calls us into His Army.

“Why should anyone hear the gospel twice before everyone has heard it once?”

Oswald J. Smith
