I have been impressed that I should write a daily thought of some kind in addition to the other blogs I am writing. A Scripture verse. A song. An encouraging story. Something just for you. That impression brought such joy to my heart, I knew it was the leading of the Lord. I pray they will bless you.
As I awoke this morning, the following passage of Scripture came to my mind. Especially the phrase, “not willing that any should perish.” He truly desires that everyone would believe on His Son, Jesus and receive eternal life. It is a wonderful passage for every believer to know and understand, but it is especially wonderful for those of us who have a passion for missions. His desire becomes our desire. So, we go, with joy, to share the Good News.
“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us (all people), not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”2 peter 3:9 (NKJV)
In addition, the lyrics to the following chorus came to my mind as well. I wish I had a recording to share with you. Hopefully, the rhythm of the words will be sufficient to make it ring in your heart, and you will find yourself “singing” it.
“For God so loved the world, He gave His only Son, to die on Calvary’s tree, from sin to set me free. Some day He’s coming back. What glory that will be. Wonderful His love to me.Author: Frances Townsend
