BEAUTIFUL FEET IN 2020

I believe the Lord is looking for beautiful feet among His children in our day. The kind spoken of by Isaiah.

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, your God reigns.”

Isaiah 52:7

We know this passage, in its initial application, is talking prophetically about the coming of Jesus into the world. It tells us that at God’s appointed time He would send His only begotten Son into this world to do every thing listed there.

BUT IT DIDN’T END THERE

Just before Jesus ascended back to His Father, He instructed His apostles:

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”

Mark 16:15

It was as though hE was saying, “Get ready. You’re going to be doing a lot of walking.”

WHAT KIND OF FEET WERE THEIR FEET?

  • HAPPY FEET – They, themselves, had heard and received the Good News. Now they wanted to tell everyone else this same Good News.
  • SURRENDERED FEET – They had heard the call of the Master to follow Him and go wherever He wanted to send them.
  • PREPARED FEET – They had “sat at His feet”: learned as He taught them and watched Him demonstrate the wondrous works of God.
  • OUTFITTED FEET – They were “clothed” in the boots of a soldier of the cross; ready to walk in whatever terrain they might encounter.

JESUS NEEDS MORE OF THE SAME

Isaiah 52:7 was fulfilled on that wonderful night of Jesus’ birth that we celebrated a few days ago. These annual celebrations always remind us of why He came. They also remind us of the instructions He gave His Apostles – “Go ye…” He is still looking for beautiful feet to “Go.”

IF JESUS IS CALLING YOU…

What will your answer be? I hope you will say “Here am I. Send me.” (Is. 6:8b) If you give that answer, I can assure you that you will never be sorry. There is no greater endeavor in this world than this one. Nothing will give you more joy or fulfillment in this life than taking the “good news…of salvation” to those who don’t yet know of Him; wherever in this world the Lord wants to send you.
